Simplify a time consuming, complicated offline process so that it can be done online quickly and easily. Respect traditional cultural values around marriage while at the same time modernizing the process for new cultural norms. Shield the non technical end users from the quirks of the complex legacy system powering this application.
Here we simplified the data entry process by making most of it pre-filled. We removed extraneous labels and controls.
Here we drastically improved the way we enter text by associating the text entry tool with the text spatially. While we wanted to have direct text editing similiar to MS word, this was outside of the scope of what our technological platform could accomplish. Indeed we have the best experience given our system constraints.
We simplified the preview process by requiring only one check box and giving the user the ability to add special requests. Additionally the bride can now preview and approve her both her invitation and herenvelopes in one step.
Again, the envelopes page was completely redesigned and moved to a different place in the flow so that the bride could focus first on how the invitation and envelope looks, followed by address printing and envelope options.
This wire-frame is demonstrating the ability to choose liners for the envelopes. While the UI is simple, the fulfillment process as well as the way that liners are set up on our backend system as a product is extremely complicated. We strive to hide this complexity from the bride.
This is an example of what was delivered to visual design as guides on what screens need to be designed and what iconography was needed.
These flow diagrams compare the original personalization flow to the redesigned flow. We updated the flow iteratively in multiple releases. Additionally this served as a guideline for which pages needed to tracked to measure the success of the project.
In this page we improved the verbiage to more closely match with the brides vocabulary. We also clarified what the menu choices means by providing a visual update each time a choice is made.
